The Special Investigations Unit has a number of ongoing investigations and persons of interest at the moment. The "Case Board" is a place to keep notes for, and evidence on, each one. The eventual goal is to let it guide a more player-driven story.

Persons of Interest
Mercedes DuSaad
Beginning of Season 2
- Somehow connected to Councilman Holcomb in the councilman's bid for the Mayorship of New Orleans. Was seen with Holcomb in the Pilot, while possibly performing some kind of ritual (maybe a demon summoning ritual.
- Was mentioned by He Who Drinks the Marrow in his final speech before killing Councilman Holcomb (although if you read the police report, the councilman drowned when his boat sank) as being in collaboration with the demon to puppet the would be mayor for some greater purpose.
- Supposedly died in 1982, according to a death certificate. Also "missed an appointment" with Sharon Boatman on that date. She set up a trust in her name that has been buying up properties all over New Orleans.
- Owns a lot of property around New Orleans, an inordinate amount of which was in the hands of Sharon Boatman at some time before or after she owned it.
- Is very difficult to get ahold of and even harder to locate (the Special Investigations Unit hasn't managed to yet), however might have some connection to Milo Arnett, the accountant.
Investigations
- Looking at documentation available at the city, as well as files handed over by Sharon Boatman, has revealed an interesting fact about the properties that Mercedes DuSaad owns: many are the sites of great tragedies, such as a Speakeasy that burned down, an orphanage, or the sight of a grisly murder somewhere in the past. Others are sites where good emotions occurred in great quantity or frequency, such as New Orleans' first movie theater or a wedding chapel.
Sherman Oaks
Beginning of Season 2
- Wanted for connection to a Grave Dust operation that resulted in the murder of at least one man (in Grave Dust.
- Resisted arrest and assaulted police officers.
- "Missed an appointment" with Sharon Boatman in 1912.
- Seems to have a number of supernatural powers, including:
- Extreme resistance to damage and pain (and doesn't bleed, or at least blood seems pre-clotted)
- Is missing his right arm but seems to have a phantom limb in its place.
- Possesses enormous strength
- Can scream with the voices of a thousand dead people.
Investigations
- Isadora Decoudreau, while searching through city records, managed to dig up a reference to, and a picture of, a Sargeant in the Confederate Army during the Civil War named Sherman Oaks. The picture looks like him in his mid 20s. As he appears in his 40s now, and "died" 50 years after the picture was taken, that means he must have been doing something (perhaps huffing ghosts) to stay "young" even before his "death".
